Best of Milan Fashion Week AW11

Seeing as though one show has triumphed over the rest at Milan Fashion Week AW11, I feel there’s really no need to feature a top three.

Gucci
Quite possibly the best show of the season. Full Stop. What isn’t to love about the entire Gucci AW11 Collection? Continuing with their bold colour pallet stemming from their SS11 collection and with inspirations coming from Anjelica Huston and Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, Gucci is all about the strong, self-assured woman.

I’ve been eyeing up the pussy-bow blouses, the fedoras, fur, sheer gowns, and python leather in eye-opening colours such as emerald greens and vivid blues and reds. Frida Giannini is an absolute genius with an amazing talent for mixing unorthodox hues together to create an unforgettable outfit. While the collection referenced the 70s (like many of their counterparts this season) the shock value wasn’t there but there is no mistaking the yearning for and wearability of this collection, which has undeniably set my pulse racing.
